TopTrades FX

Privacy & cookie policy

TopTrades FX app (app.toptradesfx.com, and the TopTrades FX iPhone and Android apps when they’re released). Last updated 9 October 2026 (app v1.0.10).

The short version

1. Who we are

TopTrades FX (“we”, “us”) makes this app. For UK GDPR purposes we’re the controller of the limited personal data described below.

Contact: l1t985@yahoo.com

2. Data stored only on your device

The app saves these items in your browser’s or phone’s local storage, on your device only:

We can’t see this data, and it isn’t uploaded anywhere. You control it. You can export your journal as a CSV file, delete everything from About → Delete all app data on this device, or clear your browser’s site data. Deleting the app or clearing browser data also deletes it, so keep a CSV backup if you need one.

3. Visit statistics (Cloudflare Web Analytics)

The app is hosted by Cloudflare. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits, for example how many people open the app and which pages they view. It doesn’t use cookies or local storage, and it doesn’t follow you across websites. Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address, browser and device type, the page address and the referring site, to deliver the app, keep it secure and give us aggregated counts. We only see totals, not individual visitors.

Home-screen installs. When you add the web app to your home screen and open it from there for the first time, it makes one request to our server (app.toptradesfx.com/api/i/install) so we can count how many people have installed it. The request carries no ID, no cookie and nothing from your journal or settings. We store only the date, the time, the phone type (iPhone, Android or other) and the country Cloudflare works out from the connection, not your IP address. A small note saved on your device remembers that the count was sent, so each phone is counted once. The iPhone and Android store apps don’t send it.

Lawful basis: our legitimate interests in running a secure app and understanding, in aggregate, how it’s used. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

4. Economic calendar (TradingView widget)

The News tab can show an economic calendar widget provided by TradingView. Nothing is requested from TradingView’s servers (tradingview.com and tradingview-widget.com) until you tap Load calendar on the News tab. We remember that choice on your device, so the calendar then loads each time you open the tab. When it loads, TradingView receives technical data such as your IP address and browser details, and it may set its own cookies or similar technologies (see section 6). TradingView is responsible for that processing under its own policies: the TradingView privacy policy and the TradingView cookies policy. We don’t receive any data from the widget.

5. News alerts (store apps only)

If the iPhone or Android app offers news alerts and you turn them on, the app downloads a public list of scheduled economic events from our server (app.toptradesfx.com) and schedules the reminders on your device. We don’t collect a push token, phone number or account to do this. Like any web request, the download is handled by Cloudflare as described in section 3.

6. Cookies

WhoWhatWhy
TopTrades FX appNo cookies. Local storage on your device for your journal, settings, lesson progress, your calendar choice and the install-count note (see section 2).So the app remembers your data and choices. It never leaves your device.
Cloudflare Web AnalyticsNo cookies.Aggregated visit counts.
TradingView (News tab, only after you tap Load calendar)TradingView’s own cookies inside the calendar widget. In our tests these included analytics cookies such as _sp_id, _sp_ses and sp. TradingView may change them.Set and controlled by TradingView. See its cookies policy.

If you don’t tap Load calendar, TradingView’s widget isn’t loaded and it can’t set cookies. The rest of the app works without it. You can change your mind at any time: tap Stop loading calendar in the app’s About screen or below. Cookies TradingView has already set stay in your browser until they expire or you clear them in your browser or phone settings.

7. Links to other sites

The app links to toptradesfx.com, our free Telegram group and our social media pages. Those sites and services (for example Telegram) have their own privacy policies.

8. Sharing and international transfers

We don’t sell personal data or share it for advertising. Cloudflare and TradingView may process data outside the UK. They’re responsible for using appropriate safeguards, as set out in their policies.

9. How long data is kept

Data on your device stays there until you delete it. Cloudflare keeps analytics and log data for the periods set out in its own policy. We only look at aggregated statistics.

10. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the use of your personal data, and to data portability. We don’t hold any personal data on our own servers, and your journal is on your device, where you can export or delete it at any time. To contact us about your rights, use the contact details in section 1. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).

11. Age

The app is trading education for adults (18+). It isn’t intended for children.

12. Changes

If we change this policy, we’ll update this page and the “last updated” date above.

Education only, not financial advice. Trading CFDs is high risk and you can lose money.
